Reverend Dr. Cedric C. Maddox
Senior Pastor
Dr. Cedric Covell Maddox is an anointed speaker, visionary, and leader. He is originally from Fayetteville, NC. He is a graduate of E.E. Smith Senior High School in Fayetteville and graduated from N.C. State University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management and Accounting. Pastor Maddox was licensed into the ministry in October 1996 at Nations Ford Community Church under the leadership of Bishop Phillip M. Davis and has been an ordained minister of the gospel since July 1999.
Doctor Maddox has a heart for lost souls and is particularly passionate about discipleship. Through expository preaching, systematic teaching, and coaching others to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and an intimate relationship with their Lord and Savior so that their lives will be fruitful and productive for the Kingdom. Past. Pastor also believes that Christians should have a sound apologetic (defense of the faith) so that they will “be ready always to give an answer to everyone who asks them a reason for the hope that is in them.” – 1 Peter 3:15. Pastor Maddox purposefully and seamlessly incorporates these principles into his teaching and preaching.
After working in various leadership capacities, Rev. Maddox was called to serve as a Senior Pastor of Flint Hill Baptist Church in Rock Hill, SC from August 2008 until December 2013. Now, Rev. Maddox proudly serves as the Founder and Senior Pastor of Emerging Life Church (formerly Refreshing Word Church in Fort Mill, SC), a ministry dedicated to helping REAL PEOPLE, live REAL LIFE, with REAL HOPE.
Since completing a 16-year career with Wells Fargo Corporation, Pastor Maddox has launched Crossling – Maddox Ltd., as a theologian, ecclesiastical leader, and civic influencer, he uses his philosophical expertise to effectively lead, instruct, and coach organizations to improve teamwork effectiveness and enhance organizational communication. Pastor Maddox is a graduate of The Veritas Graduate School of Apologetics at Southern Evangelical Seminary in Matthews, NC where he received his Master of Divinity degree in May 2007. And has a Ph. D. in Religious Studies with a concentration is Systematic Theology from Carolina University in May 2021. He has been married to Cheryl Yvonne Maddox since November 1996, and they have two wonderful sons, Cedric Covell II and Cameron Collin.

Cheryl Yvonne Maddox
First Lady of Emerging Life Church
Cheryl Yvonne Maddox is the First Lady of Emerging Life Church in Fort Mill, SC. Lady Cheryl's birthplace was Washington, D.C., and she grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina. She holds a BS degree in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University. Lady Cheryl’s corporate background is primarily in banking and wealth management.
God has gifted Lady Cheryl in the areas of administration and teaching. She has been a Bible teacher for more than 30 years and has served in various churches as Director of Ministries, Sunday School teacher, finance officer, and foreign missions ministry director. Lady Cheryl enjoys ministering to women as a teacher, mentor, confidant, and prayer partner. She believes, however, that her highest calling is to support her husband, nurture her children, and manage her home.
